Bob
the Builder has laid a foundation of friendship
and teamwork with children all over the world. Since premiering
on the BBC in April 1999, Bob the Builder has become a phenomenal
international success. The program is broadcast in more than
100 countries worldwide and is the top-rated preschool program
in the UK, Germany, Australia and Japan. Bob the Builder has
also taken his tools to the United States where he made his
television debut in 2001 on Nick Jr. with record-breaking
ratings.
Britain's best-loved handyman is now expanding his building
yard family with the debut of his sixth series on CBBC this
Autumn! In their latest exciting escapades, Bob and the gang
tackle tough situations and learn valuable lessons with the
help of four fantastic new pals -- J.J., Molly, Skip and Trix
-- the first new characters since the original series began!
With over 5 million books and 2.5 million videos sold in the
UK since April 1999, as well as a range of imaginative and
high-quality products, Bob the
Builder is the preschool world's favourite
builder. In December 2000, Can
We Fix It?, Bob's theme song, topped the charts
in the UK, outselling the previous record-holder, Elton John's
Candles in the Wind. In September 2001, Bob's
version of Mambo No. 5
also topped the UK charts as did the
Bob the Builder album, which reached
#4 on the UK charts and continues to sell into 2002. Bob
the Builder has attracted an expansive list
of blue chip licensees, including Hasbro Toys, Lego, Martin
Yaffe, Golden Books, Simon & Schuster, Tiger Electronics,
and Brio, as well as Photo-Me International Plc.
