Photo-Me International plc attended the British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC) Annual Opal Awards on 10th April 2014 and won the Vending category award for its Photo-Me by Starck photobooth at intu Watford.
Michael Green, Chief Executive, BCSC commented:
“High quality commercialisation is essential to the success of shopping centres and that is why we introduced these awards, to celebrate the most innovative in the sector. I would like to thank the Commercialisation Committee and the Opal Awards Taskforce for their hard work in making this event such a success and would like to congratulate Photo-Me and intu Watford on their win. I look forward to seeing the bar being raised even higher next year.”
Shirley Wilcock from intu comments:
“We’re always looking for new ways to make our customer experiences more memorable. The popularity of our new design photo booth at intu Watford is fantastic because it tells us that our customers want to capture a moment in time as they socialise at the centre with family and friends.”
Francois De Freitas, Head of Marketing at Photo-Me, added:
“We have been very pleased to work in partnership with intu to enhance the overall look and feel of this unit. We have created a bespoke design which integrates seamlessly the elegance and timeless design by Starck with the space allocated for the machines.”
Photo-Me confirms an increase in revenue since the installation took place which demonstrates that the overall result is more inviting and aesthetically pleasing to customers who require the purchase of an ID photograph.
The Opal Award judges observed that the Photo-Me by Starck booths at intu Watford showed how a creative design using a world class designer can transform everyday objects.
